Project Architect for 80,000 sf, 85 unit assisted living and memory care facility to be built in Centennial, Colorado. Responsibilities include architectural design, standardized resident unit design, facility programming, code review, design team management, consultant coordination, and production of construction documents using Revit Architecture.

Roybal Corporation Architects

Programming and architectural design for the 24,000 sf St. Mary’s Academy Community Center. Program includes two day care centers, classrooms, offices, commercial kitchen, 4000 sf ballroom, and monumental entry hall with grand staircase. Code review and compliance, engineering coordination, and construction documents production.

Architectural design, construction documents, and construction administration of a 4000 sf private high school multi-purpose room to include performance stage, art gallery pre-assembly space, ADA access, ceiling clouds, lighting design, finish flooring, custom mill work, and acoustical design and materials deployment.

Design of two freestanding Retail Merchandising Units for currency exchange services at Denver International Airport. Remodel design and construction administration of an inline retail location at Concourse B. Work includes specification of Forms and Surfaces wall panel systems for RMU cladding, construction documents, DIA design review, engineering coordination, and construction administration.

Conceptual modeling of a new 80 unit apartment building planned for development adjacent to the new Riverwalk Park in Pueblo Colorado.

Tenant improvement work for Denver Health, remodeling an 800 sf. office space into a cardiology rehabilitation gym and new support office spaces. Two additional tenant finish office projects involving design, documentation, and construction administration.

Conceptual massing, master plan, and facade design for 630,000 sf three-building office complex drawn in SketchUp for Barber Architecture.

Design, structural engineering coordination, and building permit submission for residential remodel to replace roof skylights with roof dormers in the City of Boulder.

Architectural design and construction documents production for a new single family residence in Gunnison Colorado drawn in Revit 2010.

Research, planning and design for foundation construction, flood protection, and historic district ordinance compliance for an existing structure in Silver Plume. Project involved analysis of FEMA flood maps and surveying to determine base flood elevation and foundation hydrostatic pressure mitigation.

Schematic design for tenant finish of a 6,000 sf commercial loft space to be divided into three condominium units for a recently built core and shell building on Pearl Street in Boulder. Project involves code compliance and coordination of HVAC systems, space planning using BOMA standards, and the development of marketing collateral including measured drawings and three-dimensional renderings.

Barber Architecture

Participation in master planning for the proposed 5 million sf Conoco Phillips research campus to be built in Broomfield, Colorado.

Expertise with Revit, drawing the core and shell, including structural frame, for a 30,000 sf restaurant under construction in the Denver Tech Center.

Architectural design, programming, and rendering of a 120,000 sf medical office building.

Solar shade parking structures conceptual design variations and coordination of a proposal to the Eagle County Airport utilizing a Power Purchase Agreement Provider and local Solar Integrator.

Research, copy writing and graphic design for 15 Proposals and Statement of Qualification documents to government agencies; attendance at numerous pre-proposal meetings, and participation in firm interviews to secure contracts.

Research and authorship of a “best practices” LEED and Sustainable Design Guidelines book for in-house and client use.

Mountain Plan Design Build

Site planning, parking ratio determination, schematic design, and exterior renderings for a proposed mixed-use commercial and residential building in Superior Colorado. Research and development of re-zoning proposal presented to the Town of Superior Planning Commission.

Investigation of urban renewal study for the University Hill District in Boulder and its application on the adaptive reuse of the College Bookstore building into a three-story, mixed-use commercial building including parking, restaurant, office and retail. Work included schematic design, and exterior elevations and renderings.

Master planning for 64 unit single and multi-family residential development on 15 acre site in Gunnison County. Plan includes comprehensive pedestrian circulation and connectivity to regional trails system.

Planning and design of a 12,000 sf, 4 unit luxury townhouse project in Mt. Crested Butte. Project involved the negotiation through numerous public meetings of a lot line abandonment, creation of a pedestrian easement, and a wetlands delineation and preservation with town planning commission and building department. Building design included coordination of custom timber framing with concealed steel structure.

Design and planning of a new 4,000 sf single family residence and detached garage in a mature neighborhood context involving expansive soils, solar shadow ordinance compliance, and green points specification in Boulder.

Design and planning of a complex residential addition involving floor area ratio determination and solar shadow ordinance compliance in Boulder.

Architectural design of a variety of residential and accessory structures involving daylighting, ground source heat pump, structural insulated panels, autoclaved aerated concrete, and durable exterior materials.

Development of an 8000 sf condominium office building in the Town of Crested Butte National Historic District. Project responsibilities included land purchase, budgeting, financing, design, construction documents and engineering coordination, materials specification, entitlement process, and construction administration. Building features include structural insulated panels, pre-cut engineered lumber structural frame, elevator, low-slope roof, and cementious exterior siding materials.

The design and construction, or design only of 18 built projects including a new craftsman revival style residence in Boulder, a tri-plex in Salida, a small commercial building in Crested Butte and numerous single-family and duplex projects. All projects involved site planning, architectural design and construction documents, utilities and engineering coordination, and project entitlement. Many of these projects utilized structural insulated panels and low maintenance exterior materials.

The adaptive re-use of a 1950s prairie-style home in Salida into a real estate office. Work included extensive remodeling and an addition which doubled the size of the building. Interior circulation was daylighted through roof skylights. Design included secondary and tertiary means of egress and full ADA accessibility.
