Whittier Pop-Top

Re-imaging a compact, non-conforming brick cottage in the historic Whittier neighborhood. The design concept creates a new second level without disturbing the existing roof structure. Denver Zoning Code approval secured through Board of Adjustments review.


CB South View House

The CB South View House features an efficient plan, view and solar-responsive orientation, durable exterior materials, and custom cabinetry built-ins. Stepping the first floor with the gently sloping site harmonizes living space and land form.


Park Hill Addition

A new two-car garage and garden sun room connector complete a Park Hill colonial. The defining feature of the south facing connector and gardening workspace is a curving cross vault produced by the intersection of two barrel vaults.


Commerce City Tilt-Up

20,000 sf tilt-up warehouse built on a compact site balances vehicle circulation and storm water management in a multi-building campus context. The restrained use of industrial details adds character while minimizing cost.


SMA Community Center

This multi-use campus facility includes a ballroom with sweeping views, day care center, classrooms, and music education-specific spaces. Classical forms integrate with contemporary millwork and lighting design to reinforce this private school's identity.


West Highland Entry

Re-inventing a commonplace Denver home with a new entry design statement and functional east-facing outdoor space. Documenting existing conditions and producing zoning code reference drawings preceded four different entry addition solutions.


Castle Valley Artist's Studio

Using climate-responsive design, the Castle Valley Artist's studio controls daylight, is built using thermally-efficient aerated autoclave concrete (AAC) block, and relies on a geothermal heat pump for summer cooling and winter heating.


Boulder Craftsman Revival

New North Boulder Park residence with efficient plan and craftsman details. The generous depth and substantial tapered columns of the front porch provide refuge and outlook for the occupants while presenting a welcoming motif to the neighborhood.


University Hills Modern

Mid Century modern revival features clean lines and an eclectic palette. Multiple indoor-outdoor spaces, light-filled entry, generous open plan, shop space, home theatre, laundry room, five bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and two half baths address a growing family's needs.


Hawks Nest Town Houses

This mountain lodge inspired four-plex on a challenging site incorporates steel structure in 16 hand-crafted roof trusses. Each town house includes three bedrooms, two car garage, and unobstructed views of Mt. Crested Butte and the West Elk Mountains on a single axis.


Office Block Addition

Doubling the capacity of a vintage one-story office building by retaining the original brick shell and going up. Fiber cement siding, aluminum composite panel, and store front glass makes a modern statement in an industrial neighborhood.


West Elk Center

6,000 sf condominium office building constructed using pre-fabricated engineered lumber framing package and structural insulated panels to speed construction in a short building season. Vernacular forms and carefully expressed details integrate with National Landmark District zoning controls.


SMA Forum

Transforming a high school gymnasium space into a performing arts venue, complete with acoustical design, arrival gallery, control booth, custom lighting, and re-vamped HVAC system.


Cherry Hills Assisted Living

A new 85 unit assisted living and memory care residential living facility on two levels adjacent to Big Dry Creek in deKoevend Park. The building includes a full spectrum of senior assisted services including commercial kitchen, spa and excercise facilities, theater, and hotel style comfort finishes and furnishings.


Skyland House

A collection of roof gables and timber accents captures the essence of Crested Butte.


CB South Kubler House

Lots of light and contemporary details in this four bedroom residence in western Colorado.
